The Caulfield Cup is always an amazing spectacle, with some of the best horses in the world battling it out over 2400 metres for $2.5 million in prize money. The Caulfield Cup forms the major double of the season with the Melbourne Cup, and is also a key lead up race for “the race that stops a nation”. Run since 1879, the Caulfield Cup has a long and rich history in Australian racing and has produced some of the best horses the country has to offer. The Caulfield Cup has been open to international competition since 1998, with its international reputation growing since then.
